Good Morning, friends of The Wordspinner’s Place,

I’ve received many emails from friends who question whether there is anything to the idea of asking for, and receiving the desires of our heart.

So, before continuing down the path of “how to” , it seems appropriate to take some time to consider “can we”.

First let’s look at this question from a religious viewpoint. In Matthew 7:7 it says:

“Ask, and it will be given to you.”

    “Seek, and you will find.”

“Knock, and it will be opened to you”

If you are a spiritual person, the above suggests that God Almighty has provided a means for mankind to obtain what he wants and needs.

We also see in science that there are forces that attract and others that repel. In human nature, we observe that there is behavior that attracts or repels others to us.

The concepts of action vs. reaction, yin and yang and karma, suggest that we can “cause” things to happen. Certain activity will result in positive responses, other activity will result in negative results.

Expecting certain things to happen seems to influence their occurance in our lives. Being grateful seems to result in a greater supply.

All in all, there appears to be enough evidence that we can and do can influence what happens in our lives. I suggest that the catalyst in the equation is “belief”. Belief fosters expectation. Expectation fosters preparation. Preparation fosters paths over which, our dreams can travel.

Millions of people benefit from “positive thinking”, so even if we only emulate their thinking and behavior, we should derive some benefits for ourselves.

Next week we will continue this line of thought.

Until then I remain,

Ken (The Wordspinner)
