The novel that I have been waiting for was released today and I am proud to be the first to review it on Amazon. Shown below is this review:

Shield of Faith by Danney Clark is an addictive page turner. It draws its power from the history of Idaho around the time of the Civil War; a time and a place little known to most, except the avid historian. His characters are very real. Those who survive the dangerous times morph into genuine pioneers; the sort that gave the Frontier and the Wild West their well deserved names. I couldn’t help but draw parallels with the works of Louis L’Amour and Zane Gray. Danney Clark is certainly vying to join them in the annals of classic western literature.

If this first novel of the Cady Miller series is any indication of what is in store for us, we are in for a wild ride, indeed. What makes this novel stand out is its “soul”; both literally and figuratively. Danney is anchored with a deep faith in God and his Protagonist Cady Miller exemplifies the process by which a man comes to grips with his faith. We see that at all times in human history, men are not only concerned with the legacy left to them, but also with the legacy they will leave to those who follow.

No tale of the old west could exist without bad guys. There are a whole bunch of those as we might expect during that period of history. What is interesting is that their behavior is not very different from modern day villains. All that differs is the time period, location and the weapons used.

I have been careful not to divulge any of the plot, lest I spoil the story for any of you. I will only say that if Shield of Faith is an example of Danney’s raw story telling talent, then we are in for a future of mesmerizing and addictive reading for years to come.

Add Shield of Faith to your reading list. You’ll be glad you did.
